I am a disabled Fire Fighter. Before my illness I had a personal digital pager account with TSR Wireless of Jacksonville Florida as did many other members of the St. Johns County Dept of Emergency Services. The company was supposed to service these pagers at a set rate government account. Once they had set up the system, we never saw the rep again. I along with most of the other men and women cancelled our service.in doing so, we found that the company had ceased doing business. After settling my bill, I enquired as to how to get the pager back to the company. They gave me an address.
I took the device to a shipping outlet and inquired as to the best way to send it, so there would be no chance of the company claiming I did not send it. I did this because I had heard that they had a reputation for this kind of thing. I completed the transaction and eventualy got an a copy of the return paper work from Fed-EX.
About six months later, I started recieving calls from TSR about the pager not being returned and demands that I pay $189 replacment fee. I told my story, read them my receipts and figured that was that. It was not. They put the account in collection, even though I had my lawyer write to them saying we disputed the claim and asking them to refrain from posting this until we had a decision as to the outcome.By ignorning us TRS showed themselves to be unprincipaled at the very least and criminal at the worst.
Now that I am disabled by heart disease and stroke due to injuries from my former job, I cannot afford to chase these mutants as they run rough shod over my credit report. I really do not know what else to do and hope that by telling this that there is some justice to be had for others, if not my self.
