Chalk another one up for audiofile, they got me too!!! In early Jan. I was stopped in a grocery store parking lot in wintergarden Fl. Two guys in a green early model Ford explorer, approached me and asked me if If I needed any speakers. I know that no leagal speakers, or at least good quality ones come from a truck in a store parking lot, so I told them no. They were a little fast talking and pushy at first, but then began to show what I thought was proof of a legit business.
They offered a glossy, laminated print of the companys line-up, their Fl. State drivers liscenses and a real-looking reciepts and warranty papers. After pushing their validity, and somehow earning my trust, they then told me that the speakers in the back of the truck were extras. They implied that the invoice for some milionaires purchase called for four total speakers, and that the warehouse had stocked their SUV with four sets instead. Thus creating the "extras" in the back of their vehicle.
They then insisted that these speakers were of very high quality, probably better than I had in my house currently. They showed me reciepts valuing them at over $1500.00 a piece, and told me to make an offer. I still said no but my interest had almost peaked and I was considering it.
They then told me that if I didn't buy them and they had brought them back to the store that their boss would do the exact same thing and sell them himself, and that he was some king of jerk and didn't deserve the money. Knowing the feeling and sort of being able to relate to their comments, I made them an offer and am now the not so proud owner of two not really AUDIOFILE speakers. After moving across the country a month later, and before ever opening my brand new speakers, I decided to find a pair of matching surround speakers.
To my suprise, nobody on the west coast had heard of these speakers. So I went on the Net and found absolutely nothing on this company. I then Knew that I had been ripped off and could do nothing about it, until I found this web site. So Good luck to all those working on this case, they are obvious highly organized considering the amount of area they are covering. I really hope they get nailed!
