Purchased computer for business from Circuit City with Quad Processor, had Vista. Firedog tec tried to sell additional Widows XP install for $149 before he delivered and set up for $199.00. Declined
Two weeks later, decide I do want Xp, call Firedog tec, Jason says they can install for $169.00 and they have "head tec and himself there that day and they will be able to get it done".
Take computer an hour later he starts in how there "might be some problem with soundcard or internetcard"none of he mentioned on phone. Also I need to buy External Harddrive because there is a chance everything could be wiped out! But he still will probably get it done today, worst case in the am.
I also leave a Dell laptop and they say it will be several days. Paid $211.00 to have it checked ot.
Go back that night, Jason has gone home and has ran into a problem. My XP software disc the computer would not accept but no problem, they can burn a copy and it will be ready in the am.
I ask for my laptop as I need some sort of connection for business, another tec let me sign it out after he spent 15 minute in the back watching his manager play Guitar Hero (behind his back not missing any notes, so we know how much practice he gets). Tells me my tec Jason will be in to "finish" in the am
Next day I call late and Jason has ran into a problem, but they are not sure what, he is at lunch. Something with the motherboard. That night I call, nope not fixed, Jason is gone home.
Saturday am, CC has had the computer since Thursday. When I call David, the head tec says" they know I need my computer for work but this is going to take more time but if I want they will refund all the service charge BUT the cost $99 of the External Harddrive I purchased from them and $ 39.99 for them to plug it in to backup what little is on it, even though they DID NOT OR
COULD NOT DO THE JOB!
Go down to store, collect the computer, Jason is not in, agree to pay for External Harddrive but not the Geeks downloading it to so they could not load a processor they were so eger to sell.
Of course you have to speak to the manager Armondo or Edmondo agreed with the dogpound, but to have ANYTHING refunded I would need to come back at 4:00 pm when Jason and Mr Peters (the General Manager) would be in. Or it could be done over the phone.
I assured them that would be good as I do not plan stepping foot in CC again.
At 5:30 Mr Peters supposedly refunded my Amex for the laptop work that never happened and my new CC credit card for the work they so easily sell but CAN NOT produce. He refused to credit the $39.99 tax they are ripping me off for work they could not finish. He also refused to give me any referance or transaction number on the refunds as anyone that has credit card experiance knows exist.
Then as others on this site I went to CC survey -of course it does not work either. No surprise! Maybe we will get lucky and ALL of them will go under, of couse after the CEO gets his mega mansion finished on Fl east coast.
