Complaint / Review
Sprint
Screwed by sprint, over. And over. And over Nationwide

I was a Sprint customer for about 6 years. During the end of my second 2-year contract, I was considering switching my service to another company, but was persuaded with rebates from the sprint rep to stay with Sprint - I signed up with a third contract, a new phone, etc.

Then I began getting overcharged by sprint - routinely, every month for the first few months, I spent hours on my cell (wasting my precious minutes) trying to communicate with reps that barely spoke english (not necessarily foreign, just a bit dumb), getting hung up on repeatedly, with them eventually reversing the illegal charges.

Well after a couple of months of this I just plain told the rep that I was sick of Sprint ILLEGALLY charging me and that I wanted a refund and my service disconnected. After speaking with many representatives, I was basically told that I could get out of my contract by DEATH or by actually sueing them like I had threatened to do.

Of course I was advised by everyone I knew not to sue, saying that sueing a company like sprint would be a waste of time. So I sucked it up and stayed with Sprint.

About 2 years went by, and my boyfriend and I were curious as to when our contracts were going to be over (we had a joint account). We went into a local Radio Shack to check on our account and to check out their other cell phone carriers and phones. The RS rep called Sprint in front of our faces, asked me for my pin, spent about 5 minutes trying a few different pins before actually remembering what it was, and then finally being told that our plan had expired and we were eligable for $150 rebates if we signed up with Sprint for another 2 years. HELL NO i thought, but we just politely thanked them and left, as we weren't sure what company to go to.

I did some research and we decided on US Cellular. A few weeks layer we went to a US Cellular store and ported our numbers from Sprint.

Then out of the blue, over 30 days later (past the date of return), Sprint takes $409 out of my account for 'early termination fees'. Overdrawn, broke and pissed off I called Sprint to explain the situation. I did. I told them how it all went down, and that of course I wouldn't have switched if I had known we were still bound by our contract (turns out, it expired about a month later). They could care less. I keep asking to speak to a supervisor, and each time I am repeatedly told that the charges are VALID and AUTHORIZED. And I keep insisting, NO, they are INVALID, ILLEGAL, UNAUTHORIZED, and I demanded they do something or that I would SUE. They said that they would wait to hear from my attorney.

I did some research and found an attorney that just recently sued and WON over 18 million from sprint in California - reimbursing sprint customers for ILLEGAL early termination fees..

Now I am part of a class action law suit against sprint for early termination fees (the last case only covered people charged between 99' - 2007' i think).

Please contact me If you want the name of the attorney - he is planning on filing soon.

Also, I think that sprint should be sued for their FRAUDULENT, REPEATED STRATEGY OF OVERCHARGING AND STEALING FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS.

If anyone else is interested. And I know you are, please contact me asap.
