I was looking for a okidata 320 printer (a specific software requirement) and didn't have time to drive around and find it. I did google search and saw this company online www.buyprinters.com and saw the printer. When I ordered, I did not realize that it was a refurbished printer. I paid it with American Express so I will be well protected incase it doesn't arrive or if there are problems with the equipment.
When the printer arrived, it had no power cord or a training manual, which was highly unusual. I bought power cord from RadioShack and plugged the printer in, nothing happened. No lights turned on, no click sound, nothing at all. I thought maybe the power cord it faulty, so tried a cord from another printer, still didn't work. We thought maybe problem with the outlet, tried 3-different outlets, 4-different cords but nothing happend.
I picked up the phone and called buypritners.com and spoke to DAN. Dan was NOT professional at all. When I told him on the phone that printer doesn't turn on and first reponse was, "you must have blown a fuse", what fuse, I replied, printer didn't even turn on.
Dan asked if a MALE is in the office to open the printer for him and he will show him how to open the printer to figure out if it is a fuse. I told him, no MALE is in the office. He said, ok, ship it back to Florida we will have our technician look at it. I told Dan, I just paid $209.84 for a NON WORKING printer and now I have to ship it back also, we have a business to run and don't have time for this and it didn't even have a power cord or insturctional manual in it otherwise, we may have try to figure out if we are doing something wrong.
Dan said, you bought a refurbished printer, you should expect some problems with it I was under a major shock, I told him, I didn't know it was a refurbished pritner, and now it make sense why there is no power cord or instructional manual with it.
But, even if it is refurbished, it should at least work or turn on when it is received. Dan said, it should, but unfortunately it is not working, send it back at your and we will look at it. I asked him, who will pay for shipping, he said you will.
I told Dan I just paid shipping for a NON WORKING pritner, and I will not pay shipping again to have it shipped to be fixed. I would like for them to refund my money back and send postage to have it returned. He said, it is our policy if you return equipment back you have to pay a 25% restocking fee. I told Dan, I am not returing it because I don't like it, I'm returning it because it is not working. I don't have time to wait, it took them 5-weeks to send the first one, I don't have time to wait for another 5-weeks. He said, well you can pay $360.00 and buy the new one and will ship it to you. I told Dan, after my conversation with him right now, I'll never buy nor recommend their company to anyone.
THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF, I replied, he said, it is our policy. I told him, I'll take care of it with American Express and ended our conversation.
I called American Express spoke to 3-different representative at 3-seprate occasions in effort to resolve this whole issue and it is still pending with them.
I shipped the printer back, cost me $35.65 to mail it back and received an email from buypritners.com that they are charged me a 25% restocking fee and refund back $141.00 of the $210.84 I paid.
So far I have lost $35.65 in shipping and more than $70.00 in restocking and shipping me. I have so far lost more than $95.00 for a NON WORKING pritner from buyprinters.com.
This is total ripoff!!!
