Charter Communications
Do not follow through with what they say

Not long after moving into my apartment, a door to door salesman from Charter offered my husband and I a good deal on Charter cable for a 6 month period and told us by how much the price would be raised after the introductory period. This was fine and went on as expected.
In March we decided to cancel our cable because it was expensive and we did not watch television often enough to justify it. The individual we spoke with on the phone said a Charter employee would come over soon and remove our cable box for us. 6 months later, and we received a letter from a collection agency, billing us for $323.67 on behalf of Charter. No employee had stopped by or called at all after we wished to cancel our service. So, I was angry, and I had my husband (it was his name on the account) call them to recify it. The first call we made was not successful, the representative said there was nothing that could be done. When we asked for a supervisor, we were told none were present at the time. So the next day, we called again, and it went much better, but less than ideal. If we returned the box to their office on Prototype Dr, the collection would be cancelled and my husband's credit report would not be affected. So, while I would have preferred them to pick the box up, the end result was good. If you talk to Charter, do not take what the rep tells you at face value, for it seems they are less than selective in their hiring of phone reps, and their training is incomplete
