I ordered a camera on a Wednesday night night on line — not the cheapest but good price. Could not get shipping charges until fully registered and about to purchase. For a 2# pocket camera package, minimum S&H was $15; I got 3-day UPS for $20 — pretty steep but needed it in a week.
FOUR days later, I got emails and phone calls that I needed to "verify" my order. I promptly did so, confused as I have never had to do that before after many such purchases. The rep simply read my address back to me to "verify" then launched into a hard sell with outright lies to upgrade to a different battery.
He said the battery was "wholesale" and would only last 30 minutes between charges. When challenged that this was a retail new product, same as on many other sites, he said they all sold the same "wholesale" batteries. #2 such camera on Consumer Reports, highly rated on CNET and by owners — simply not true.
When asked if I would get the package on time, he agreed I would not and that Columbus Day would interfere — no shipping that day. I had to pay another $5 to get 2-day shipping — $25 total — no longer a bargain but I was stuck due to their procrastination and greedy deceitful tactics.
I sent emails to their customer service but no response after 3 days.
I got the package an hour within the time needed but at a big price and leaving a very sour taste in my mouth. Also, tracking showed the package was sent out on Columbus Day!
