Directv has decided not to offer its HD and pay per view movie services when they conflict with the NFL broadcast schedule. They have directly admitted this to us. They say that they need to use their Satellite capacity to provide their football packages, so other customers will not get HD or pay per view movies on Sundays during the regular football schedule. This means that until football season is over customers can't order movies on Sundays. It also means that customers who bought HD boxes to watch football will not be able to do so. This is a significant modification of the deal that DIRECTV offered when we signed up for the service (Sunday afternoon is a prime time for renting movies and not having HD on Sundays denies a major part of the service that caused me to sign with DIRECTV in the first place.) I have proposed that DIRECTV offer a credit to customers who are affected by this. They have not yet responded.
