Charged my bank account after my account was disconnected

I had Cricket Wireless for about a year or so, and had the Text Message billing, and Direct Debit from my bank account, for the conveinence.

Last month, I switched to a Family Plan on Verizon Wireless because we were going to be travelling more and more and it would be more beneficial to have Verizon rather than Cricket.

On August 15, Cricket took out $47.22 for the monthly payment for the NEXT month's service (as we understand is their policy).

On August 22, we went to Verizon and got our cell phones and "ported over" our Cricket Wireless phone numbers. Verizon said that 'should' automatically close my Cricket account, but I called Cricket to make sure, because I was concerned about the Direct Debit being on my account. When I called customer service I was told that "Oh yeah, don't worry, the account is disconnected" and they told me I would a refund back for part of the $47.22 that was paid on August 22. Later, I find out that's not part of Cricket's policy, therefore I was lied to.

On September 13, I notice a pending transaction for $46.19. I go to my bank and find out that it's from Cricket Wireless. I am livid. I call Cricket Wireless, first I am put on hold for 45 minutes each time I called (I called twice in one day) and I am told that they will go ahead and cancel that pending transaction. I asked why I was charged in the first place, and I never got a straight answer, only them assuring me it would be taken care of. I got someone in India, and also someone in the Phillipines, and could BARELY understand them, so I doubt that they understood me.

On September 14, I notice that it is STILL pending in my bank account, so I call back, having to wait 40 minutes in their queue AGAIN, and I am told ONCE AGAIN that it will be taken care of.

Today, September 15 the charge went through.By now I am EXTREMELY angry, mind you, I have had my Cricket phone number on my Verizon Wireless phone since August 23 or 24. So I ask to speak directly with their supervisor, so I get some woman in the Phillipines, telling me that she sees that YES they did charge my account, but she still needs proof. Why do you need proof if you can see that the bank account was charged? Then she goes on to say that if I give her my credit card information, then they can issue a refund right away. I'm sorry, but you charged my account, you ALREADY HAVE that information. Hello?

So, I look online for Cricket Wireless Oregon's number, and the phone number doesn't even work!!! Since it is Saturday, no one in corporate is around anyway.

I just want my damn $46.19 back for a service that I haven't used since August 22!!

And I just want to be ASSURED that I won't be getting charged on the 15th of each month from now on!

But Cricket Wireless customer service is impossible to get a straight answer, or even the SAME answer from.

I intend to speak to my attorney on Monday and file a lawsuit against them for this.

Don't EVER use Cricket Wireless, and if you DO, don't EVER sign up for the Direct Debit from your bank account.

Big mistake.
