I bought a Connect 3D 2GB 2.0 USB Drive (C3D 4007) for $50 through Buy.com on 01/25 (order # 32117402). I mailed the $50 rebate form to Connect3D at 1762 Technology Drive Suite 223, San Jose, CA 95110 on 2/5. I got an email from Connect3DCustomerService on 3/29 saying that We have received your Connect3D rebate and are processing your claim. Your Claim ID is 36470341 (see 1st email copy below).
At the middle of May, I called Connect3D at 408-441-4632 and a lady answered me saying my rebate request has been approved and check will be sent to me soon.
2 weeks later, I did not receive anything from Connect3D, so called above number again, now it became an answering machine saying because of large number of rebate request, they have forwarded the requests to a third party, who will contact me on the rebate issue
Now every time when I tried to call the number, nobody answers the phone!
THAT IS A $50 REBATE! Is that a fraud sale because of the "$0 after rebate" ads.?
I emailed Connect3D, buy.com, as well as Connect3D head office in U.K. Fortunately C3D European Support replied and told me an surprising news:
Unfortunately it does appear Connect3d-us have ceased trading (see 2nd email copy below).
Seems like it is a fraud sale! Can somebody stop it?
