Theives, crooks and robbers. Do not buy from these people

I was searching for a Sony DSC-T50 and believed that something in the $300 area is what I'd pay. I made the mistake of going to 47th Digital. At first all seemed well when the gent (!) explained that I actually wanted an Olympus FE-240. Roughly same spec as the T50 with about 7 megapixels and image stabilisation etc. The bonus was a 5x optical zoom not just 3x on the Sony.

I thought this was good. The price on the box was $399 which was more than I wanted to pay but here you go. I agreed to buy this with a 1Gb Olympus xd card (not pro version) this was priced at $100 and he threw in a case for free which is probably $20 worth) $520 so far not including tax at roughly 9%.

I then made mistake number two mentioning I have a Nikon D70s. The salesman brought out a lens converter that had $1299 on the box. The box was a little bashed. This was a Bower 67mm 0.5x Pro Super Wide Lens AF with Macro. This was offered to me at $600 and I asked for a 4gb Ipod Nano also which was priced at $249 on the box.

I realised after leaving the shop that I had paid way too much for the lens convertor. My total bill was $1762. I am back in the UK and have just checked prices. The lens convertor is $90 (used) on Amazon.

I did not get a breakdown of items on a bill. All the price labels on the boxes were removed by them prior to my leaving the shop.

I have bought roughly $850 worth of stuff for $1762!! Very stupid I know so don't let this happen to you. Take my advice and, especially if you are not from the US, stay very, very far away.
