A representative from this company came to our offices and represented themselves as a representative from our copier server. Shelly (Scamartist), stated that she was following up on some unfinished paperwork related to our service agreement related to the toner that is delivered automatically. All she needed was a quick signature indicating that we were getting our toner. Our new secretary knowing that toner was routinely provided by the company holding our maintenance agreement signed the form, as no one else was available. Only when it was given to me did we realize the ripoff attempt. She had actually signed an order confirmation!!! Naturally, the telephone and fax numbers on the form are not in service, and the cross-check on the address shows there is no such address.
I do plan to advise our Attorney General's Office and our Copier Service Company of this fraud in our midst. Watch out, they may be in your office next.
