Rebatestatus.com rebate scam and Rebate ripoff

Back in December I purchased an X-Digital media product from Amazon, because of the $40 rebate. A friend purchased another X-Digitalmedia item because of the $50 rebate. Apart from that, our problems are identical.

Rebate paperwork was filed in accordance with all requirements.

Rebates were sent in the same day, within the rebate period.

After several weeks and no rebate check, we checked rebatestatus.com. Both rebates were declined. A note stated that a post card was mailed explaining why. Neither of us received a postcard.

A dozen e-mails to the company and X-Digital were ignored. Complaints we to the postal inspector were ignored by both companies (the crooks at X-Digital media, and Continental Promotions, the scammers who run rebatestatus.com)

The main result of my complaints: X-Digital threatened me with a slander suit.

X-Digital blames Continental. Continental blames X-Digital. My complaints to the BBB went basically nowhere.

If you have a problem with X-Digital media, complain to the BBB - Fill the file with complaints. Enough complaints may get somewhere. Ditto with mail fraud complaints. Complain to the post office. Both complaints can be completed online.

Continental's email to me:
Acting as the fulfillment agent, CPG itself has no obligation to fund consumer rebates. That obligation belongs solely to X Digital Media. CPG is obliged to follow the instructions of our client with respect to individual rebates to be funded.in this case, X Digital Media has undertaken to complete the fulfillment of its promotions without the services of CPG. All questions and issues are to be forwarded to them directly. This is the number we were given for consumers to call 1-949-218-3165, no name was provided.

Proof the rebate was valid From Continental:

A record had been submitted for processing in the amount of $40.00, this record has not completed the mailing phase of the process. Now X Digital Media Inc. Has decided to process their promotions themselves. The only number they have given us for the consumer for contact is 949-218-3165. I regret we will not be able to assist Mr. Drew further.

Here's X-DigitalMeida's idiotic reply to me:

We are in receipt of your original inquiry regarding your rebate status as well as your secondary inquiry, itemized below.
In having investigated both your submission and other listed individual, it is evident that your failure to receive a rebate is due to non-compliance with the rebate program requirements, as highlighted on each rebate coupon form.

In your particular case, the non-compliance is due to your failure to provide supportive, required documentation in the form of a sales receipt. This is what you would have received at online point-of-sale, Amazon.com purchase receipt.

X Digital Media Inc. Rebate programs prove rather straight-forward, simplistic in nature and structured so in order to facilitate efficient processing of high-volumes rebate submittals. The clear objective is resulting in satisfied end-customers. Of which, is an objective achieved when the stipulated requirements are adhered to by end-users such as yourself.

Mr. Drew, our programs clearly execute in an efficient, proper and ethical manner. I believe it would have been more appropriate for you to permit us to look into your situation, discover the root cause, and receiving a response from us prior to enacting upon assumptions which are both inaccurate and clearly a defamation.

I would encourage you to contact us at your convenience for any further discussions and explanations we can provide to you directly.in conjunction, however, the nature of your communication requires us to forward both your assumptions and defamation statements to our legal department.
