Husband purchased a Canon Camera he bought that was open box, and the camera proved to work quite badly. The technician looked at the camera and told me that there would be a restocking fee, because he didn't seem to see anything wrong with the camera.
I told him that I had taken pictures that weekend and that it did not meet expectations, the zoom did not work well, and took horrible pictures.
I even went out an bought a camera that was also a Canon that really did work well with no hitches.
I spoke to the Technician and the Manager and both wanted to charge me a restocking fee. I think that this unfair business practice of not taking back defective items, if a customer determines that it isn't good, they should acknowledge the customers needs.
The only way I think for this type of behavior to be shed light on is to do a full on report by Televison/News/Media so that the company gets in trouble for what they are doing to innocent people such as myself and no longer do this to anyone.
