Well let's just try to keep this short. I bought my daughter a TV/VCR combo and was talked into the protection program. 5 years for complete coverage. If something goes wrong or just want it cleaned just bring it in and it will be done at no cost. If it can't be repaired they will replace it with the same thing or something of equal or greater value.
All started out great I was told it would take 5 to 10 days to get the TV back. After 1 month and tons of calls to the store and the home office I finally got the TV back. I was treated rudely, hung up on, avoided & lied too. The day after picking up the TV I got a call saying me TV would be ready for pickup in 1 to 2 days call the pickup location for more details. I went along with it and called. I was told to come in 2 days. I hung up and waited a few hours and called again and asked if they could check it to make sure it was fixed before I came.
2 days later I called to make sure it was there and to check if it was really fixed. I waited 45 minutes on hold while they searched for a TV I already had. I was told they could not find it so I must have gotten it already. I told them no I still have the claim ticket by any chance did they get a name or ID of the person that must have picked it up.
NO THEY DID NOT. It took hours for them to review the tapes in the store and all they could say is it must have been somebody in a white Taurus. 1 week later the TV started doing the same thing so I brought it back. Nobody would open the service door for me. I had to carry this big TV to the door and leave it outside while I went into another door.
It took 20 minutes for the manager to come (HE HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM FIRST) to help. The manager knew I was ticked and he left saying he was checking on something and never came back. He got some employee to help us. Well the TV could not be fixed (yes the Tech. Told me this 2 weeks before) so they told me I had the price I paid for the TV to put towards a new one. I told them I had the replacement aggrement and they need to give me another TV. I was told they no longer make this one anymore and that was the best they could do for me. I could either take it or leave it.
I did get them to give me the rest of the warranty and the best sale price. O ya they even let me use the 25.00 gift card they gave me for my trouble. Can you believe it? To top it all off I also found out I could have had a loner TV this whole time but if you don't know about it they will never offer.
BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE. Circuit City is unfair and misleading.
