My experiance was with the enrollment, and financial departments. It was during enrollment that I was informed that if I tranfered to UOP, I would receive credit for my past fifteen year experinces, which was an important factor in my decision to change from the prior University. I was also informed that in 2 years I would have my degree, as well as my eduactional cost would be covered by the grant I applied for. I was also informed that I just needed to attended class to get the ball rolling.
As one of the requirements, of UOP is that I must have a full time job, however, I was on a contract assignment, and the cost for resources at UOP were growing continually. I spoke as well as sent emails to the registration department, and was never given a direct contact, so I called the corporate office to complain.
It was discovered that I had never received any information, nor had I been sent information on my award, grant etc... No activity should have occured for that reason, actually I should not have been allowed to attend class until these matters were settled. I immediatley demanded that I be withdrawn from the university. Monies were being sent to University, at the same time I was receiving loan repayment statements, and these were loan agreements I I had not been sent, and did not know what they entilted. There were many emails, I sent and calls I placed, finailly I was informed that I should complete tha five weeks and would be reimbursed the expected disbursement, becuase the previous disbursement paid for the current course I was taking I was floored, what disbursements, and where is my award letter and information?
Should I say more??? I sent emails to Dept of EDU, and discussed these actions with a legal counselor. I feel that it is important to speak to the misconduct and lack of professional behavior on UOP's part... And to all, I as a christian, know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love him.
