In Gouge Logging was contracted to timber my land in Surgoinsville, TN. After inspecting the land, they told me that they would offer me a 50/50 split on all the timber they could sell from my land and that it appeared that we would probably get about $30,000 each. They also guaranteed me that by July 15, they would finish the job and no matter how much they cut or didn't cut, they would guarantee me a minimum of $20,000 in payment.
Needless to say, by that date they had paid me roughly $12,500. A week or so later, I had my lawer remove them from my property and we have been after them since. We then brought in a forrester from another area to measure the stumps, distance to tops, culled wood, etc and their estimate at then current market values was that approximately $66,000 of wood had been harvested from my property (that included a hefty percentage given for bad wood).in short, I should have been paid roughly $33,000 and was only actually paid $12,500. Gouge Logging ripped me off! Watch out!
