Well, folks, if you havent figured this out yet, let me clue you in. We have all fallen victim to modem hijacking. I am not certain as to the legalities of being held fiscally responsible for this trash (if anyone knows, please post). Here is the kicker... While we have all know who we think is responsible, I believe the local phone carriers are well aware of this deceitful practice and actually benefit from it.
If you are unaware of initial charges on your phone bill you might pay it, thus putting money in the pockets of all companies involved here-the third party billing should be a dead giveaway that something is terribly amiss here. I would suggest that everyone affected by this contact their State Utility Commision, the FTC as well as their States Atty Gen Office. You know, if we dont pay, they won't make any money.
