This is very similar to the Barrister Fred Goziechi consumer complaints. I received an email entitle "INHERITANCE CLAIM". It gave a story of a person with my same last name who had died in a car crash in 2000. The person was an executive of Shell Oil Nigeria and had a large bank account and no next of kin.
I explained I was not next of kin but he stated that was not important because they were unable to find next of kin and he could name me as "next of kin". When I emailed him to ask him about descrepancies in his story, like, at one point the wrong name actually used when referring to the accident victim, he just said his secretary typed the incorrect clients name in the request.
He never explained the fact that I was unable to find his name or law firm in the Nigerian directory. After 3 emails back and forth I found the rip off report and emailed him the copy. I have not heard back from him
