I called swift transportation thanks to swift i got my cdl.

I went to trucking industry in after all the advertising i see on the web you can make money. That's purely bull, i worked for swift 'til 2007. Illegal immigrants working in the fields they make more money than a truck driver. From 2007 to current i drive straight truck, now i make some money to take care of the bills.
Mtc / mtc1 inc, the reason that shity school is still in business, they pay some extra money under the table to mdot to keep scamming students. That school arbitrates a lot of people. I read a lot of bad comments about that piece of crap.
Whenever school ask you for a co-signer run fast, what they are trying to do is, if anything happen you won't be able to file bankruptcy, one more they asked me if i rent or have my own house, they were going to put a lien to my property.

What cause that drivers shortage? If you think cause the economy you need to think again! The shippers/consignees/dispatchers have no respect for truck drivers. A rookie company trucker should make $976.00 to $1,000.00 every week. A 2yrs experience company truck driver should make $ 1,143.00 to $1,378.00 solo. You pick up a crappy load at georgia pacific the shipper pays your company $17,000 to $ 25,000, the company itself pays you 33 to 36 cpm or $47.00 or less for that load you are running, with that csa2010 the dot wants to make money will hit you with a fine at least $ 110.00, and up.
Leave trucking alone, you would die with diabetes, high blood pressure, kidneys failure, or you might feel so super trucker / may be your dispatcher is putting pressure on your shoulder, on your way you kill a family of 5 in the van, do you think the arrogant bastard company's attorneys will stand for you in the court house or paying the judges some money under the table to flush the case. You must think again.

When i left swift that company had volvos good stuff, but they don't pay enough for a living.
One more thing, i see a lot of felons/misdemeanor / dui / brothers and sisters they had bad record in the past, decided to drive 18 wheelers, they call mtc / mtc1 inc. Of course they would talk sweet to get your money or send you a letter they want you to pay, whenever things like that get on your way only thing you may do is filling bankruptcy that's the only solution, but not to have a co-signer other wise they'll go after the co-signer.
Leave driving 18wheelers alone, you might regret. Go to school for car technician, bus driver transit, cna, lpn.
Trucking might mess you up, regardless.
