I just found charges on my credit card from MWI'SIMPLE ESCAPES2. I called Union Plus Credit Card (AKA Household Credit Services) to dispute these charges and they REFUSED! They told me I had to contact SIMPLE ESCAPES myself. I couldn't believe this. I called back and then asked why would I have to disput a frauduent charge myself? Come to find out, Household Credit Services is affiliated with CONNECTIONS or SIMPLE ESCAPES. I canceled my charge card immediatley. I am also going to call the Attorney General's Office of California in the morning.
This is the scam: I received a packet in the mail from "CONNECTIONS" On the front of the envelope it reads, "UNLESS YOU CANCEL, YOUR CREDIT CARD OR OTHER ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED". I just threw this in the garbage mail and went on with my business. Lo and behold, The charged showed up on my card the next month. Since I am a poor housekeeper, I found this envelope!
I was always taught that if you do not solicit for a service or products then they can not charge you for this. I never used this or have I ever agreed to this. They charged me anyway.
I think that everyone that gets scammed like this to call every business that is supposed to give you a discount through SIMPLE ESCAPES (ie Disneyworld, KMart, etc.)
