Ripoff No 1
When company took over my account from Household Bank, they did not send renewal card. When I called them, they sent a "temporary card" for 2 months until the permanent card could be issued. When I sent payments after the temporary card expired, they posted them to the temporary card number and billed me past due on the permanent card. When I called them, they transferred the payments but would not credit the late charges. When renewal time came, they refused to renew based on "bad payment record."
Ripoff No 2
They posted my payments as received late and billed late charges. The payments could not have been received late as I mail all payments at the same time and ALL other payments were posted to other creditors 5 days ahead of Fleet's due date. The only way I could resolve this issue was to send all payments via express mail or certified mail, which I now do. If I am sending from Tinian, I send via Express Mail. If from within the USA, I send via certified mail. They refused to set me up to pay online because I don't have a current card.
Ripoff No. 3
They billed me $30.00 for a "returned check." I contacted the bank who said they had no record of a returned check. But the bank told me that if I could produce proof, they (the bank) would credit my account for the charge. I wrote to Fleet in October requesting a copy of the check. I wrote each month until April of the following year.in April I received a letter from them stating, "We enclose a document you requested." Nothing was enclosed!
I don't understand how these people can stay in business as a bank??? I thought banks were responsible to the federal government.
