I was enrolled in the degree paralegal program offered by Ashworth. At the end of my first semester, and being fully paid I sent the names of my three possible proctors in order to take my final exam.
The contract with Ashworth states that you must take your final exam with in 120 days of compleating your semester. I had to hound them, with phone calls, and letters to get them to respond as to whom they had chosen to be my proctor.
To make a long story short, it took 6 to seven months of fighting with these people to get the exam sent to my proctor.
In the mean time I refused to pay any more money for all the extras they charge you in taking your finals.
Ashworth constantly lied about haveing sent the exam, but never failed to call for money. When they would call, I explained that untill such time my proctor received the exam I was not paying an other cent.
After I informed them that they breeched there contract with me by not haveing sent the exam in the time as stated in there contract and student handbook, and I was fileing a complaint and a law suit to recover all I paid them, plus, the exam arrived.
In the process of waiting for the exam and early on beliveing what they were telling me that the exam had been sent I enrolled for my second semester.
I then informed them after thinking about the problems I had had with them, that I was with drawing my second semester enrollment.
Now they are hounding me for a cancellation fee of $185.00. Well good luck they will get it when they start serving ice cubs in hell!!
Further I checked with some local colleges to see if they would accept a transfer of my credits from Trashwoth. One lady in administration put it this way (chuckling) NO WAY! The rest also declined. They seem to have no communication with each other there.
I received phone call after phone call and had to explain the same thing over and over again.
They sent me a letter telling me that if they did not receive the $185.00 in 30 days they were going to place my name in a collection agency.
I wrote them and told them to go one better LETS go to court I would love to file a counter suit for breech of contract.
They have not responded to that, but keep calling and I just keep hanging up.
If you are thinking about a course with Trashworth, the best advice I can give is DON'T DO IT! Or be prepaired to get ripped off.
