The USA Credit Company uses an Internet scam to entice people to sign up for a USA credit card. The web interface is such that even if you decline at the last, you will still be charged $149.95. This message only appears for about a second, so unless you are paying close attention, you will miss this trick. When you call up to complain, they will tell you that this was a second screen in which you only declined a $29.95 offering.
However, it is all a scam that is designed to rip you off. I prevented the scam from happening by closing my checking account altogether. I also called up and read them the riot act, and forced them to cancel my application immediately—and to send me written email confirmation that they had done so. This is a very bad scam—and they should be prosecuted to the hilt!
