I started going to Le Cordon Bleu because I was led to believe it was a good school at the top of it's class. WOW - were they LIARS. First of all they have a recruitment office which leads you to believe only the best will be selected for their school, and this is a total lie. Everyone who has access to financial aid money gets in. The school is ridiculously expensive so if you have full ride of pell and stafford loans like I do... Those don't even cover all the tuition. So I ended up paying 4000 for the first semester with my loans and STILL had to pay them 100$ out of pocket for something that they called a grant. (Don't ask me. None of it makes sense). Anyway - I finished the 1st semester with flying colors. Then. I got sick and had to be in the hospital for about a week, and after that we had a family emergency. Le Cordon Bleu told us that we could take a registered Leave Of Absence and just restart the same semester in the next round of classes.
