I've waited too long to express my dismal conclusions about the highly overrated and putrid University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. I had dismal and offensive experiences at The University of North Texas and the university is responsible for the trouble that I went through there. The worst problems are the feeble minded staff who provide miserably poor customer service and the cantankerous, passive-aggressive, and offensive professors who provided even worse customer services. What is shocking about this putrefied university is their lack of responsibility in ethics and professional teaching and their absurd marketing agendas that make this university appear very good, open-minded, and welcoming on the outside but when you get there it is rather putrid, antiquated, and repellent to anyone with an intellect and a friendly demeanor.
I found the university atmosphere to be very repellent. The campus is flooded with police officers and meter men: it gives the immediate impression that you are in a fascist police state. The meter men are constantly giving out tickets because the parking lots are constantly overcrowded. The police officers constantly use intimidation with their ginormous gas-guzzling trucks. Too many of the buildings are antiquated: they reek of moldiness and mildew: also, they appear communistic in structure. The majority of the students are biased conservative country bumpkins or uptight fraternity snobs. The rest of the students are Asians who barely speak English and they are vehemently unwilling to be integrated with other types of people although some do kiss up and admire white Anglo students. So I wondered why they (the Asians) are even in The United States? I personally don't want them here if they are going to be so aloof and bigoted to others outside their culture. I found them rather combative and difficult to work with in groups which is their fault for not adapting to diversity: American is not just about adapting to and admiring white Anglo culture: it's also about respecting and cooperating with everybody else who lives in the USA. I found them (the Asians) to be as abhorrent as the white Anglo country bumpkin Christians who dominated the classrooms with their petulant rants and raves and covert/secretive manipulation and shunning of those deemed inferior. Those deemed inferior are usually social liberals (independents), gays, or ethnic minorities who are not Asian. One of their strategies is to target a student deemed liberal to be made the butt of a joke: then that hapless victimized liberal student would be ostracized and made an example of so the rest of the class or population would not be so willing to be open-minded and socially liberal anymore or they too would be targeted. This keeps the university stagnating, depressing, and fascist. This type of hate-mongering is instigated by a small number of country bumpkin radical students (oligarchy) who are given the freedom by the radical lunatic professors to cause trouble and to hate on social liberals: very similar to a conspiracy but it is usually termed institutional corruption. The overall social atmosphere is one of insidious snobbery, uptight arrogance, passive-aggression, and hate-mongering. Unfortunately, the professors are the very lousy and corrupted role-models who demonstrate the insidious snobbery and uptight arrogance on a regular basis with snide innuendo, enraged tantrums, rampant disorganization, vindictiveness, and very unfair grading systems.
In the majority of the classes you will be forced to complete a lot of pedantic and impractical busy work and vapid homework assignments. The equally vapid and obtuse professors force you into groups of five, usually with a herd of biased country bumpkins, to discuss certain academic topics or to work on certain academic questions. Group work is one of the methods to eliminate independent thought and to waste valuable time and money. Sadly, there is almost no independent thought or independence at The University of North Texas. Herd mentality is the norm (everybody thinks the same): despite disinformation and constant lying the university population is extremely stifled, stagnated, non-liberal (non-free, non-prejudiced), and they even come across as socially retarded. And some extremely bigoted professors abuse the country bumpkin herd mentality system that is pervasive in Texas and in the Bible Belt to alienate and shun certain types of minorities: Hispanics, blacks, Jews, gays, atheists, iconoclasts, social liberals, etc. UNT spreads disinformation that the university is progressive and modern (this dumpy and trashy university is located in the middle of the pathetic bible belt): despite false and hypocritical protestations by every obtuse staff and faculty member. Staff and faculty are virtually always clueless, insensitive, and ignorant of social politics e.G., glass ceiling, discrimination, racism, workplace mobbing, gang stalking, astroturfing, oligarchy, GLBT, etc. Most of the white Anglo professors do not see their bigotry because they are constantly being reinforced, admired, and protected by the terribly backward and stagnated system of oppression. More of the bigoted and narcissistic professors need to be called out by name and exposed online for targeting individuals to offend, embarrass, and oust out of the university system.
I believe the worthless student organizations are bait and switch astroturf organizations. I believe they are bait and switch front groups with ulterior social agendas and scripted jargon designed to dumb the students down: to mislead the students into thinking that this is the one and only way: and to keep students segregated and group dependent on fools rather than independent and self-confident. They also use moles or informants who are employed by the university to spy on and snitch on students while in these groups in the name of behavior assessments and profiling. All of that is extremely eerie and bizarre and is an invasion of privacy. This fascist university is not worth going to. I believe it's a waste of money and it will break your spirit and cause a lot of trauma. Educational fascism has been documented in several books by John Taylor Gatto, Tim Wise, Chris Hedges, and Charles Sykes.
The free counseling offered to students and to the local community is extremely biased, in favor of antiquated and pernicious methods and beliefs, and it is not recommended that you go there. I minored in counseling at The University of North Texas and I would not recommend that you attend that program. The professors teach antiquated and pernicious methods that are extremely biased and usually gloss over the pain and suffering the racial and ethnic minorities experiences: the extremely biased academic counseling programs also gloss over the importance of being sensitive to discrimination, civil rights, and homophobia.
The University of North Texas represents all that is in Texas: a stagnating stink pit of quick sand sucking in money and all colors and orientations of people: and in my experience leaving me without money as well as very dismayed and dejected by the rampantly horrendous and offensive customer service.
