College America Colorado Springs Campus
This school should be investigated by the state department of education and the attorney generals office

Outcast1 colorado springs
I am a student at college America in Colorado springs and at this point I feel as though I
made a terrible mistake enrolling in this school. It is not what I expected and it gets worse on a daily basis, To start off with this computer that was issued is the worst, it has a mind of its own and does whatever it wants to do, I am afraid to take it to the IT staff because they will flash it and I will lose all my work for the past 14 months.

I chose this school because I want to pursue a career in substance abuse and I thought having some type of medical training, would be a plus in this field i.E. Knowing how to draw blood and analyze urine species and administer medications to patients.

Being 55 years old and returning to school after cooking 25 years I am starting to find this school somewhat depressing, the credits are not transferable, and there is not much hands on training with the exception of the phlebotomy class.

I have a PHILOSOPHY class that is for someone who is in their 3rd year of the subject, I cant understand what I am reading, it is truly way above my head and the whole class agrees on this. We questioned the teacher and she said that it will all come together. Secondly what kind of college does not have a printer and copy machine for student use, the school took away our copy machine (which very seldom worked properly) and also our printer because a student left the printer going and printed out a thousand pages, keep in mind this piece of equipment never worked properly in the beginning, But I paid to go to this school and feel that it is the schools responsibility to furnish these things for students.
Also there is a fact that I am paying for books that I cant keep, every mod you have to turn your books in, Its a medical school what do you keep for reference. I attended culinary school in new York and after paying tuition I received my books, uniforms and a top of the line knife set and bag, at college America I have to pay for the internet to use the computer to do my homework had to buy my own stethoscope and blood pressure cuff, printer ink, paper and printer to interface with this computer.

At the present time I am unemployed, a father of 3 small kids ages 2,3, 5, living well below the poverty level, trying my best to keep my family together, I thought by returning to school to do a career change there would be some type of scholarship to help me with school expenses, I went to a guidance counselor and explained the situation and was given a packet and told this would help me out but most of the web sites were no longer in use.

This school reminds me of the political commercials on TV everything is a Lie there are a few great teachers there like DR. Garcia and the dean of medical classes Ken and the phlebotomy instructor Tammy, who deserve much better and should be publicly commended for the job that they are doing, I believe they truly care about students and consider this more than just a job. I truly hope that I and others will make it out of this school with gainful employment, There are some facility and admininistrative personnel that need to be investigated to see if they are licensed by the state to teach the classes they are teaching. I am so sorry that I went to this school and got my family in debt and wish that I could sue them and get all the funds returned back to the lenders and start all over again at a nationally accredited learning institution instead of this mill.

I am so sorry that I went to this school and got my family in debt and wish that I could sue them and get all the funds returned back to the lenders and start all over again at a nationally accredited learning institution instead of this mill. Now to make matters worse I am graduating may 13. I was stuck in the tendon by a phlebotomist at memorial hospital I have lost some strength in my left arm, my nursing instructor said that I cant do my nursing clinical at a nursing home that they chose, because of the needle stick they told me that they were making up a special class so I went to school there was no class or instructor I then approached one of the medical deans regarding the situation and he told me to take 2 days off and return to school on wed 06 of April.

When I returned I was placed in a class that had already started 2 weeks prior its a 1 on 1 class just me and the instructor. The class is a sociology class for people who are pursuing a bachelors degree. Now without my nursing clinical. I cannot take the national certification exams. So I wasted almost 2 years of time. Put my family through unnecceary stress and neglect for what to be ripped off by a school that does not care about your family situation just the money they can suck out of you and lenders there is more to come as soon as I get back to school I am looking for some legal help in this matter. They dishonored my student contract on a dishonest attempt to fraud me and the lenders out of funds.
