Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology Lies To Students About University Transfers Just To Get Their Tuition Money

A SIAST representative came to a careers day at my daughter's school earlier this year. My daughter has wanted to study art for a very long time and was going to apply to Univ. Of Regina or Univ. Of Alberta to study it.

When my daughter's class was in the career show, U of R's person was really busy with other kids and the U of A obviously wasn't there so she asked the U of S people and the SIAST people about their programs in art. The SIAST lady told my daughter that all their art (media graphics) programs were guaranteed to transfer over to U of R and that alot of students do it this way.

So my daughter got all their brochures and was able to get some U of R brochures too before her class time (1 hour) was done. A couple of days later she e-mailed the U of R admissions office who said there was no such class transfer from SIAST at all!!! They said maybe some classes would transfer but it sounds like SIAST totally lied to her.

I sit on the Parent's Association and I asked a few other moms about this. One said that her son got lied to about classes transferring to a different university also.

I called the SIAST number and they said its not their problem, its U of R's!!! But the U of R person didn't LIE to my daughter - the SIAST person did! Wish my daughter could have remembered the rep's name but she doesn't.
