There are many reasons not to go to Vista Ca Itt. Once you go through all the trouble of giving your private information and you sign for a loan be conscious and aware that the promises Itt made to get you to sign up will soon fade and break your heart and your bank account. My case started when I was told by the recruiter that I doubled my entrance score as she whispered this into my ear, no one was supposed to know. Then with a grinch like smile I was given a paper to do a commercial if choosen. You must go through their orientation miles away from the learning site. You are given your books that fall apart at the seams and some small presents for enticements. I think most students received a calculator so they could calculate their losses later. Most of the students are clearly excited at this point. My first class comes and it is in criminal justice. The teacher was standing in the middle of the room talking about the class and teamwork.
We were to have a partner and map their life without using words. This was done. He went to my map and said it needed work. Then he talked about careers in criminal justice. The retirement age being 57 as he looked at me. I am 57. The class ends and he points at me and says you will not make it past the 5th week. This being said in front of other students, I complained the very next day to Itt staff. The following weeks in this class my homework was never good enough for him so by doing it over and over again I fell behind. I arranged for speakers to come on a topic I choose and got permission from the associate dean as my recruiter said it would be the way to go. I went to the associate dean and he said it was okay and I got the speakers all lined up to come to talk and I put their information in my teacher's mailbox located in the associate's deans office. Time went by, too much time, and I had to call my speakers up and they said they were never notified.
I told this to the recruiter and the dean and the teacher that claimed he only had a name in his mail box. Why did he not say anything? Why did he not say something earlier! Surely this discouraged my speakers! I was seeing the light and my fears being too real; none of Itt staff could care less what I did and it appeared as if they wanted me to fail. Although I have experienced these nightmarish classes and have other things to say, I will go on to how my second class in policing went. This teacher gave huge amounts of homework also. Crossword Puzzles. Your binder was also part of your grade. I put my binder together well to receive an F on it, did his quizzes. But before I could get my quizzes done they was snatched away from me. The third teacher in strategies said all we have to do is be in class to get an A. He would show home movies in our lab class. As I felt I had no support team and that the staff had deliberately cheated me for what they promised, I started to become depressed. After being whacked down because of my age from the very first class to where it hurt and bothered me I had seen a therapist. I had to leave as it was too painful to attend anymore and I heard other students wailing.
I know that other students there so they could get educated and get employment. What will happen to them? I still want the American Dream. Itt said there would be employment in criminal justice and that you would be able to pay off your student loan in approximately six months to a year and even start your own business. You see I was there to update my education, I hold two bachelors, an AA in cultural arts which I truly loved and paid off my FISL. I achieved those degrees a long time ago. To conclude I was not given anything from the glorified promises that were made by Itt and I did attend more than the five weeks that the first negative instructor said I would not complete, I still left why pay for pain? I was so happy, happy to get out of there. I was sent a debt for approximately $3200, a D in my 1st class an F in everything in my second class and homework not graded or returned. Itt said they would defer my loan if I went back to school there. Going to Itt hurt me in many ways and discriminated against me because of my age. I was happy to start and became more and more down because of how I was treated, exploited to unhappiness. Do your research on ITT and don't go there, it is a painfull experience!!!
