Upon reviewing my credit card statement in May, I saw unauthorized charges of $149.95 from MWI*Galleria in CT, with an 800# 800-411-8104. When called, the automated message clearly states its office hours, but never receive answer from a live person.
In my research, this site came up that advised me of all the aliases associated: MWI in Omaha, NE, Houston, TX; Montreal, Canada; and Stamford CT, as well as Countrywide Dental, Cardmember Marketing Corp, Coverdell & Co, Dealpass (www.dealpass.com, of which I have seen in a junkmail box, unsolicited) Easy Coups, First Nebraska-Educators Credit Union, HomeworksPlus, MWI Connections, MWI Essentials, MWI Galleria USA, Premierhealthplus, Simple Escapes, Simply You.
I wish to add the following: Smart Source. One of the telephone numbers listed in the posting on this site was 800-211-9746, associated with the Stamford CT MWI location. When the automated voice answered, "Welcome to SmartSource..." I recalled a prior fraudulent charge to the same credit card only six months ago by a company named Smart Source - for $89.95. At that time, I called Smart Source and finally got them to say they would and did reverse the charges. I dropped the ball and have no proof that they credited me, ringing up my total of being screwed by this company to the tune of $238 within six months. Neither Smart Source's "Kathy#2557" nor "Carla Ivy" I spoke to could verify the means by which they obtained my credit card information, but Smart Source Employee "Zack#9192" even tried to knock off $60 of the charge to discount my "membership"... UNREAL!
I am disputing this MWI*Galleria charge with my credit card company, as well as the original Smart Source charge last year.
It is highly advised that I take advantage of the virtual credit card number now afforded me by my credit card company, that is good for one use online, or a given time period. I am still not clear whether my credit card information was shared or 'illegally harvested' online, or shared from another company that I made purchase with.
BBB has reports on this company MWI, as they were given a good smack on the hand and promised to "clean up their act" a few years ago... I'm thinking they forgot to use soap.
