Stanley Barber Consultants
Buyer Beware of these people

Like the gentleman from San Leandro, I too was ripped off by this Company. It is no wonder they have changed their name to TGG Consultants, NA.

Back in July of I was contacted by a representative of this company who stated they found my resume "on line'. To begin with, they presented themselves, over the phone, as an employer, not a a recruiting company. I was scheduled to meet with Nigel Davenport, a "vice-president" of the company.

Within a few minutes, I realized that they were just another recruiting company, and did not actually have a job available for me. I listened intently to Nigel's speech, in which, like the gentleman from San Leandro, I was told that the process here was very different. I was told that their vast network of leads by-passed the normal Human Resources chain, and they strictly dealt with hiring managers. I was also advised that they did not use the internet job postings to obtain interviews. They dealt directly with thier vast network of hiring mangers and "other sources" to gain employment. Nigel also stated that the usual employment time was 4-6 months, and they had a 78% success rate.

After almost an hour speech, I was told how much it would cost me. I used almost all of my savings to meet this price, as I felt that a 4-6 month wait was not out of the ordinary. At this time, I had been unemployed for almost 7 months, had already had a couple of interviews, but I felt that if they had the inside contacts, my chances of gaining successful employment would increase greatly. I paid them.

Within two days, I was introduced to Jay McClusky, another "vice-president" of Stanley Barber. I was interviewed and given some personality test to perform, as well as something called a "professional portfolio" to do. This was completed and sent back to Jay the following day. After two interviews with Jay, I was told by him that he was in a "quandry" and had no idea what to do with me. I walked out of his office in anger and despair. I had, at this point, given Stanley Barber almost everything I had in savings.

Two days later, I was contacted by the "Owner and President" of Stanley Barber, Al Chiara. He said that if I had just cooperated and filled out all the paper work I was given, that it would be beneficial to me. I advised Al that I did fill out all the paper work I was given, and had no idea where his attitude was coming from. Later on the same day, he called back and apoligized for the error, and stated that he fired Jay (another lie).

I met with Al, who introduced me to a person in a hight tech company within a couple of days. I spent an hour with this individual, who had no idea what I did for a living, but was going to put a job requisition in with his company. I have no idea if that was actually done, but Al insisted it was done, but the company was not hiring anyone. So that fell flat. I have had two interviews since my initial meeting with Al, but neither of them was due to the efforts of Al or Stanley Barber.

I have met with Al on at least 4 other occasions, where I have been given job postings from the internet. I explained to him what Nigel had told me, and he stated, "that is not entirely correct". Nigel had given me false information, and thier leads were obtained through the internet. I advised Al that I could do that myself, and why did I need to give him all that money to do absolutely nothing for me. All I was told is that they were working hard on my issues.

This is February, and to date, I have not obtained one interview, not one viable job lead that is not on the internet, and no explanation from anyone.in one particular session with Al, he advised me he is working on getting me a job, and does not do this for just anyone. What was that supposed to mean?

I have no idea who TGG Consultants, NA is, nor do I see any executive office listed that is supposed to be, according to Al, a nation wide consulting group. Who are these people? This company is a total sham and a rip off. Anyone that thinks of doing business with these people needs to seek psychiatric help. I have no recourse other than litigation to get my money back, and after having to give them most of my savings, I cannot even do that.

This company (Stanley Barber, or whatever they are calling themselves now) is a total scam company that should be investigated. They are stealing money from people that actually (like me) believed in Nigel's speech, handed over thousands in hard earned money, and got nothing in return. Not a thing. If there is anyone out there reading this and the letter from the other gentleman, beware of your hard earned money and do not patronize these people. They are scam artists from the word go!
