As time and word gets around, we can see now just a little bit of the situation at Lamson.

As posted, only one of the problems is not that Lamson is trying to place their students in the best hospitals/settings, the problem is the hospital do not want Lamson students because of sub-par education, hence a 6-8 month wait. I know for a fact that Arrowhead hospital refuses to accept Lamson students. I personally tried to get my own externship but was flatly refused.
I spoke with a lab instructor recently, and she was trying to figure out how she could handle lab with over 20 students. She was not hopeful. What a joke, but a very sad joke for those in her class.
Kelli can sing the praises of Lamson and the accreditation, but bottom line now is, the program is more than sub-par, the instructors more than sub-par, and the infamous extern ship program beyond sub-par.
Students are now registering complaints to AST and CAHEEP. It won't take long for these enities to step up to the plate and close down this joke of a program.
Lamson continues to accept students into this surgical tech program. That is beyond belief. Like was said before, and I will add to it and say again... Do not, under ANY circumstances, sign up for ANY program at Lamson College.
Many of us are looking at legal recourse to this situation. We have ban together an are proceeding to bring suit to this situation. If you are a former, current, student or instructor and would like more information or could provide more information, please post a response or ask around school and you will find the students who are putting together this suit. We now have the numbers, but the more, the more powerful our voice will be heard.
