Loral Langemeier does not hide it: when her husband dumped her and left her raising her kids on her own, she decided to become a millionaire (at your expense and mine - that she does not mention!)
It starts with a free book and CD offer of the Millionaire Maker and Extreme Money Makeover. You reply and they insist that you should order the whole workbook set, risk free as long as you return it within 30 days if dissatisfied. Mine had been used and was written in, so it was unusable by anyone, but they still won't refund my $79.95. It was supposed to be $150.00, but I stopped the damage before the second payment was taken out. The set is very basic. It sells you the same great idea you find in the "Secret". The basic message is that we were all negatively programmed to be losers and down on ourselves and we need to reprogram ourselves.
A week later, a rep calls you to sell you the consulting package. Based on "how fast you want to move forward and become a millionaire", it can be $3000 to $15000 or more. Understand what they are saying: it has nothing to do with how fast you want to move and everything to do with how much you can throw away (at them) or donate, or whatever you wish to call it.
If the answer is no at $15K, te price goes down, with a "huh, I thought you said you wanted to move fast on this..." If the answer is still "no", they keep on calling to offer you seminars at $2400 each, wherever Loral stages one next.
I am still fighting with my bank on the $79.95 and am glad that's all they got from me... There are only so many ways to make money, whether you overcharge people for a basic product or service while you fill up your pockets (AT&T, Microsoft, etc.) or plain ripp them off as in Loral Langemeier, and a many others, just like her...
