Tara Lowenguth, who runs the dorms of the Genesee Community College, made the horrible mistake of not giving back security deposits. She did not make this mistake once, however, but four times. Forced to leave the public housing portion of these college dorms (the reason being that they were turning them into more rooms for college students), three people had to move out on thirty days notice all to find out that there was to be no security deposit.
Each were given letters stating that there was something wrong with the apartments which resulted in two out of four not getting any part of their security deposits. The two that did get their security deposit backs did not receive the whole amount.
There were various excuses why no one received their security deposits. One was that a fire extinguisher had been used. Another was that there was excessive dirt on the bathroom walls. The list just goes on and on. Letters were sent complaining to her and we even filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office, but to no avail.
We all want to see justice served and if one knew all the details of what happened, you would know that something is going on.
