Just like many other people I am also a victim of this college. I wish I would've done my research before attending. I should have known something was up after paying $100 for the admissions, I even told the rep that I didn't have the money at the time and he jut kept pushing me to ask my mom, or my grandpa for the $100.
Everything was going too fast and I was new to this college system and didn't know what was going on, so I actually backed out the first time around. (I wish I would have stuck to my decision.) But they kept calling me and convinced me to go to westwood. Now this is where the lies began, I asked them what would the total cost be for my degree, I was working with different people (I don't know why they keep switching up on me) and they told me that the total cost would be $12,000. To me that was acceptable and i agreed to attend.
While attending this school, I did realize that classes was too easy. I wasn't even trying and I had a 3.9 GPA. (pretty good for someone who graduated high school with a 2.9 GPA).
After 6 months of going there, I stumbled across a review on westwood which read about may students being ripped off by this school, so I googled "Westwood ripoff" and turned up here and read the reviews. I was then sent an email by a Westwood rep. That was the cost for my 6 months at the school. It read that i owed over $15,000. I was shocked since I was told that the cost for my degree was going to be $12,000. I called the school and talked to a rep to recieve the news that my degree plan would cost over $40,000.
I asked why I wasn't told this in the beginning but the rep.insisted that they told me the total cost was going to be $40,000.
I'm trying to figure out how loans were taken out without my permission and how come I didn't receive any monthly cost from the school. My financial aid didn't cover anything and I wasn't informed on that issue either.
I have no idea How I am going to pay this loan, I don't make enough money at all. I feel that my credit is at great risk, I worked so hard to keep my credit score high, but now its going to be ruined because of this school.
I am going to attend a community college instead, at least I will learn something there. (I also checked if any of my credits would transfer but the Community Colleges would not even accept them!)
Please do not attend this school it is one of the worst of its kind.
