Like all of the other reports, I wish I had checked here before signing up with this outfit. It was over a year ago (Nov. 2001) that I heard an ad on the radio and called about receiving the free book. They also promised to do my taxes and to check on my past 3 years to see if they could save me any money.
I mailed copies of those and never did hear if I could have saved some money.
Tax time came and I was told to fax them all the data, receipts, etc. Which I did. Then I waited and waited and no one called. So I called them and was given a name of who would be preparing my taxes.
I had to keep calling him, leaving my name on an answering machine all the time. Finally I was able to speak to him, and he knew nothing about the papers I had faxed. Every time I called, I had to keep giving him the same information. He finally was able to look at my things, but it was getting close to April 15, so he said he would file for an extension of time. He did so, but used the wrong social security number. I did receive my tax forms on April 15 and when I looked at them could see a very obvious error. I had a loss incurred in the sale of some stock and instead of subtracting it, they added it, creating a $2,000 difference in what the IRS owed me. I had to take my taxes to a local accountant who re-did them and charged me for doing so, but he at least saved me over $2,000.
I was totally disgusted with the service of NADN and at that point tried to get a refund, but was told to wait until my 12 month period was up. So in Nov. 2002 I wrote and asked for a refund and was finally told that it was denied because I had failed to use their services!
They had also tried to sell me the internet business and I was lucky enough to get my money back on that, but somehow they have it on their records that I did that business.
I have talked to countless people at NADN and explained my problem, but every time I just get the run-around. I have even been out to Las Vegas twice and each time went into their office to see about getting a refund. But as usual I always get a run-around.
The first time their computer conveniently broke down just after I arrived so they couldn't bring up any records. Of course they promised to call, but never did. The second time I actually met with a manager, Frank Magabang and he promised to look into it.
I took copies of my taxes done locally and the ones they did, which showed the difference in savings. Of course I never heard back from Mr. Magabang, and when I called him I get the answering machine.
I have recently received many calls from them, but they ask for my husband and when I reply he isn't here, they hang up. Once I asked who was calling and told them I needed to talk to them and was able to tell someone about all my problems. He suggested I send a fax listing my complaints, which I'm doing today.
I'm frustrated and angry after having wasted so much time with this ordeal. I told the last person I talked to at NADN that I intended to file a complaint with the BBB, the Attorney General and perhaps I should call the newspaper and the television stations and make complaints.
I suggested that it wouldn't be very good advertising for their company if this happened. He agreed. Any legitimate business would give a refund to someone who was not happy with their services.
