Need to know what to do

I am scheduled to start u op in january. After reading this board i am scared to death. At this point i have only filled out the application. I will be a self pay. I do not want to attend. Can they charge me. Am i considered enrolled? Can i just ignore and not attend? Will i be out of any money?
