I was looking to take an elective class online over the summer, and found that Capella had my degree, I looked online and filled out some information like my name, address, and what class or classes I was interested in taking, so I put this certain class. Anyways, I ended up enrolling in another online university for my class.
I got an email from a professor at Capella saying I was enrolled in her class and she noticed I had not logged on! I had to laugh, and emailed her back saying that I was not aware that I was in her class, and she told me to contact Capella. I then received a bill in the mail from Capella. When it came, I thought it was just an advertising thing as I receive these from universities from time to time. So I put it in my non-urgent file, and when I opened it I was shocked to see it was a bill. I immediately called, and they said I could withdraw but it was after the withdrawal date so I would have to pay 25% of the original amount. I told her I did not even get anything saying I had been accepted and had not registered for that class so I was not going to pay, so she forwarded me to their finance department.
They keep sending me bills and I will not pay! How can I get them to stop with these ridiculous bills without having to pay for a lawyer who will probably cost more than what they say I owe?
