I subscribed to magazines, and was bombarded by their telemarketers within hrs. I had to finally install privacy mgr to keep them from calling me 10-12 times per day.

I didn't receive any mags, but the money continued to come out of my accout. I finally put a stop pymt on my acct, after they'd taken $143.50 out... The stop pymt. Cost me another $28.00.

I then sent 2 separate Certified Letters to both addresses, telling them to cancel my subscription and return all the money to my acct, including the stop pymt. Fee.

Today, I got a ltr from them saying that "per our telephone conversation, they'd no longer take money from the card, but would send me invoices at home". Give me a break! I never telephonically spoke with anyone agreeing to do that!

When I called the 800 customer service number and spoke to Gail, operator G.J., she was extremely nasty and called me a liar about cancelling the subscription. When I told her I'd not spoken nor agree to home invoices, she said was "typo". Then got very loud, nasty, and hung up on me.

Gail also refused to give me, as required by law, the telephone number to reach the administrative dept. Of the company rather than a customer service rep. Gail said she was the best I could ever do!!
