My son Michael is from Jeffersonville, Indiana and wanted nothing more than to attend Wyotech in Blairsville, PA. He was accepted and started attending in April. He had housing at Indy Park, which is provided by Wyotech for the students.in May I get a phone call at home telling me that my son Michael had been suspended from school for six months, and had until the end of the weekend to vacate the Indy Park student housing complex. Michael was suspended from school for using his debit / credit card to open another students door per his roomate's requst by way of telephone. Seems the room mate had went home for the weekend and he wanted to make sure that his stuff was ok, because of recent complaints of breakin's at Indy Park. Michael being foolish did as he was asked to do. Needless to say his room mates stuff was gone. Who ever broke in took everything of value.
Here is the kicker. Michael was suspended from school for breaking and entering because he used the card to open the door let me remind you per his room mate's request. I would like to know if this is an acceptable practice because in my book it's not. No charges were ever filed against my son for the so called breaking and entering claim made by Wyotech school personel, or for any of the thefts. Michael can go back in October but has to provide his own housing, he can not stay at any of Wyotech's student housing facilities. I think this is crazy because he is paying so much to attend this school, and now I feel like Wyotech is too eager to suspend students. I will be contacting the PA attorney general...
