Same story as everyone else. Mini-van pulls up to me in Bank parking lot loaded with "excess inventory". Con Artists show me realistic advertisement from stereo magagine with $1200 as advertised price. Also show me realistic invoices with the prices and order quantities on it (signatures & company titles and logos too). Tells me his installation company ordered 6 speakers but dumb luck with the warehouse guy gave him 6 pairs (12 speakers). Said he was going to sell them on EBAY for half price of retail ($600). He pulls a speaker out, shows me the construction, the weight... Says specs match APEX speakers exactly. Asking price was $400 beer money. I stupidly think I can do the same thing he is doing, sell them on EBAY for $500-$600. WRONG!!! I paid $700 cash (no beer money) and am quite upset. I AM AN IDIOT!
I've read a few reviews on the web that say the speakers are crap, just that you can get brand name stuff for the same price. But I'm keeping mine in the original boxes so I can sell them brand new to someone who will appreciate them for what they are (a cheap set of no-name speakers).
Watch out Dallas!
