It was oct. 27 we received a collect call. The first one was from a automatic operator saying it was from my sister in law did not say from where but stated her name. Asked specifically for my husband stated his full name and all.By the time i excepted by pressing one this person had hung up.
We receive a second call this one from an operator live from mci saying it was a collect call from my sister in law from tijuana mexico were thinking she got deported. She gets on the phone asking for my husband so i get him as soon as he gets on the line she starts i need your help i need some money, i need to get to the other side, i need to buy a house over there. About the money you dont have to worry about ill pay you when i get to the other side i have money there.
Finally he cut her off and said hold on who are u. She says she is a distance cousin and he asks her how did u call me she told him collect. He screams OH NO give me a number and i will call u back.
Of course the number she gave us was bogus. It took us three times to try and reach sombody. The lady who answered said she had been living there for 5 years there was nobody there by that name. But that lately she had been receiving several calls from different people asking for people that didn't live there. She said it wasnt the first time that happened and said they are probably trying to scam you.
Now remember the first time i didn't even talk to the lady and the second time they only talked for about 2 minutes. We get our phone bill 11-30 they have down for 2 collect calls for 10 minutes for $85.56. We were in shock and could not belive it. Now we are not PAYING FOR THIS CHARGES because from my research i wasnt the only one that has happened to. Now i call and they are closed everysingle time i call. If anybody receives collect calls i recommend them NOT TO EXCEPT because more than likely it is a SCAM. They can get youre info especially from your phone bill.
