On April 15th, I placed an online order with Kindred Learning. Kindred Learning is a homeschool curriculum sight. Immediately after purchasing, I received an e-mail confirmation for the order. When you order from them, you have the option of ground shipping (7-9 business days), priority mail (2-3 business days), or next day. I chose priority, and paid the applicable fee for it.
My card was charged the same day.
After a week went by, and I hadn't received a shipping confirmation e-mail, I thought I would give them a call to check on the progress. The phone just rang and rang. I thought perhaps they were just out at the moment, but for the next five days, I called at ALL hours of the day. No one ever answered, and they don't have an answering machine.
During this time, I also sent an e-mail to the "sales" e-mail address. No response. After 2 more days, I sent an e-mail to "Ken's" e-mail address (which is listed on the site). No answer, still. I was beginning to think I got completely scammed, when low-and-behold, some young man answered the phone on a Saturday.
He said my order would ship out immediatly that day (How convenient!). No appologies. No excuses. Nothing. When I suggested the company gets an answering machine, he just responded with a flat "hmm."
Yes, I did get my supplies, but I will never, ever order from them again. I can only think what would have happened (or NOT happened), had someone not answered the phone.
I hope you read this before purchasing anything from Kindred Learning. They have some serious business practices they need to work on.
