Loss Prevention Of New York advertises fpr job openings as a Store Detective on craigslist.org. You call the numer (516) 681-7262 and a girl named Michelle answers and asks you when you can come in for an interview. You find their office, which bears no markings of them having been there for more than a a few hours. It's just a big empty space. There are tons of people waiting to be interviewed as well as tons of phone calls coming in. When you finally get to speak with Tom, he basically tells you that you need to go through a training course and that it costs $169.00, and how you want to pay for it. He distracts you from reading the fine print on the sign up waiver, which says "No refunds due to aministration and processing costs".
He gives you a book to study and says come back and take the test week. You take the test, pass it, and another guy who scribbles his name on the school certification and and never reveals his name tells you to go and get finger printed by the state and contact the companies on a list that he hands you. I got the fingerprinting done and starting calling around for a job and come to find out that none of the companies on the list that this mystery man gives you are hiring for sstrore security positions and most do not even have loss prevention personnel.
Stay far away from these scam artists. They will waste your time and rip you hell off.
