My son, a marine, signed a contract with United Martial Arts an establishment in the town near his base. Since he was in the marines and his schedule was irratic he knew he could not honor any long term contracts so he paid CASH when he did participate. However United Martial Arts and ASF International are withdrawing money from his account. This contract was effective 4/3/07 and had an expiration date of "month to month". Payments terms were indicated as being "non-renewable".
My son is in Iraq and couldn't fix this problem. We stepped in when we saw withdrawals being made from his account again. We have finally gotten a copy of the contract with the help of the Better Busines Bureau. The terms are clear, they had no right to withdraw these monies. I wonder how many other unsuspecting deployed marines have been tricked into this scam. This martial arts academy is in a marine base town.
