Wizard if claws / puppiesforsalebynet.com make unauthorized credit card charges/american express favors corrupt pet store

It is long but worth reading
oct. 20,07- I went with my daughter to 9113 Taft St to buy her a puppy. AL was the employee who helped us when we got there. Wizard of Claws is a showroom type of store were one dog at a time is brought from a room behind closed doors and shown to you. AL asked how much I was willing to pay for the dog since the smaller the dog the higher the price. After I answered he said he would bring out a toy sized dog for me. When he came out the door with the puppy in his hand, he said he had already scanned it for its microchip number and he went over to the computer to check on

Www.puppiesforsalebynet.com or www.wizardofclaws.com to check for the dog's price. He said he was sorry, that this had been a mistake and that the dog he had brought out was a pocketbook sized dog and that he was for 5,000 dollars. However, my daughter liked the puppy and he seemed to like her. So I purchased the puppy using my American Express card. I was not present when the card was swiped since AL took it from me much like at a restaurant and brought back a receipt. That night when I got home, my daughter faced with the irony that we traveled so far to a place with many dogs to compare and that she got the first she saw, went to the same site (the 1st) mentioned above. There while scrolling down I saw a picture that looked like our puppy. I told my daughter to get me the papers that came with the puppy, and these papers said a different microchip number than the one we were given verbally at the store and this new one (which is the real one since I've re-scanned the dog) matched the one under the picture on the website and described the dog I bought earlier as a tiny toy sized dog on sale for 1,500 dollars.

Oct. 21,07- Early that morning I drove back to Wizard of Claws and AL happened to be there. I explained to him that there was an apparent mix up with the puppies and I suggested that maybe he scanned while puppies were running around and he scanned the wrong dog so I wasn't upset at all because mistakes happen. AL gave me the option to exchange the dog for one that was worth what I paid, or to keep that one and get my money back. I opted to get a reimbursement on my American Express and keep the dog I already had.

Oct. 22,07- AL called my cell phone during my working hours to tell me that the ad I saw was a mistake and that the dog really was the original 5,000 dollars. He said he had spoken to his boss and that I had the option of paying what I owed them, or giving back the dog. I said that I would talk to my daughter about it and decide even though I later realized that I honestly thought I didn't owe anything. Regardless of what I thought or decided, without further communication with Wizard of Claws, a few hours later, the reimbursed amount was charged once more on my American Express, without my knowledge or consent. Heck! I didn't even know they had kept my credit card information!
Oct. 23-25,07- The ad showing the dog I bought was changed to describing a teacup sized dog for 5,000 dollars. It contained the same picture and microchip ID as before.

I complained to American Express about the charges and they began an investigation in which they, together with Wizard of Claws concluded that the charge was appropriate. Regardless, I feel that my credit card information was used behind my back for Wizard of Claws' personal gain. I feel they thought I owed them money and came and stole it from me.in the letter American Express sent me it emphasized that charges had been suspended but when I looked at the date, the charges were only suspended during the 4 week investigation as I already knew, and then showed the charges back on again on the bottom. It was misleading so I called them to confirm that the charges were still there and they were. How could American Express agree to the unauthorized use of my credit card? I was baffled and no longer know who is to blame, if I have a legitimate complaint against Wizard of Claws, American Express, both or none. I mean, is this legal? Does the law agree with me? American Express offered to do another investigation but I declined deciding that they had just wasted my time. I have all American Express billing statements pertaining to these charges I speak of and both advertisements on the dog. The original and the re-made. I also sent these to American Express hoping it would aid in their investigation.
