A ragedy looking girl calling herself Lindsey Curran stopped by my home tonight giving me the line about trying to sell magazine subscriptions to win a trip to the Bahamas. She told me that she was in 2nd place and needed just a couple more sales to get the trip. She definitely looked like she could use some food or money and I thought she would get something for my buys and I really wanted to help her.
I was just thinking how fortunate I was that I didn't have to go around door to door selling magazines for a living. So I ended up purchasing 3 subscriptions from her as gifts to my family members.
Just as we were finishing the transaction, a van packed full of other teenagers pulled up and she took off. I immediately went inside to look on the internet about this company. The only thing that I could find were complaints of fraud. I looked up the number for the name that she had given me and it was a valid name but it was not hers. I called the police so they could get a bullitin out so that other people in my city wouldn't get scammed like I was.
I did find a phone number for the company but unsurprisingly, it doesn't work. I am out $134 just because I am naive and wanted to help out a poor girl. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANIES!
