Vietnam Veteran claims University of Phoenix has violated his civil rights by ruthlessly returning his financial aid, billing him for already paid invoices and turning him over to collection after he withdrew from a course due to temporary blindness caused by advanced diabetes. While the student has a good GPA and good standing otherwise he has been prohibited from continuing because of this artificial billing. Living without any income, in a house at 58 degrees, eating two meals a day this disabled Veteran is faced with blindness requiring two operations to control while he strives toward a College degree. Though Medical intervention has improved the situation the veteran is faced with a University Administration who has claimed to have the right to return all his Federal Loans and turn him over to collection, though he wants to continue his education.
Harsh treatment and carefree application of American Disabilities Act opens the door for large Lawsuits. All the student wants is to return to class, he has no money for legal assistance and the College is emboldened because of that.
