The Indian Educators Federation Union is a rip off. Do not join this union! They have violated thier own constitution by refusing to have an election despite a written request by several paid members. They have never had meetings for local membership other than a few that was held by a field representative.
Although their own constituion allows for election for union stewards they have appointed Shirley Garnett and Mary Brown and Ruth Pourier to the housing committee. These three jealous hearted and mean spirited women use their positions to harrass members in good standing and even filing hostile work environment complaints have not helped protect members who are being harrassed by the terrible three.
The local union operates strictly on these three union people's agenda and nobody else has a say despite paying fees out of every paycheck. Calls to the American Federation of teachers, who oversees IEF, and who continue to support this type of behavior have not helped to remedy this terrible situation. Do not join, its a farce! Only these three bullys get any support.
