Same thing here... First of all Merchant Lynx signed contract with our office manager... Secondly the equipment was supposed to be $99.00 month from First Data when $105.29 is deducted... It does also say w/o sales tax which was the first debit to the account $335.97 to the account. Then the contract term is 48 months which means we will end up paying over $5,000.00 for a piece of equipment that costs less than $300.00. That's what we paid for the credit card machine at our other location.incredible that FDGL could get away with this.
I also received a letter for a misc'l deduction and refer to section 4b which could be found nowhere. (I will check website as other victim noted.) The officer manager believed she was paying $99.00 for the equipment. Why she was allowed to sign contract is beyond me? Of course I have no idea without disrupting my business and opening up a new bank account how to resolve this.
I have been trying to contact both companies to get someone to tell me something. I could not find a cancellation fee in the copies I have (which my the way are mostly illegible photocopies) but I am guessing there is one. I have yet to be able to talk to the salesperson who also signed the papers. And we were hit with two additional debits this month one for $99.00 and one for $89.00 and the bank statement says ipayment annual fee. I actually had to call the bank to find out that it was FDGL that made the deductions.
This is incredible and should be illegal. I truly don't understand how that have been in business this long. I am sure there are many others out there. We have talked to our vendors recently and whenever we tell this story, they have one too.
Good luck to anyone else... My recommendation go to your local bank and start a relationship so that you know exactly who you can contact for questions and answers. That's how we purchased our equipment for the other business.
